Laneige BB Cushion Review & Swatches

It's been a really long time since my last review, I took a break from them because I felt that all I do on here is bombard you guys with reviews. And I don't want do that, I am always trying to come up with new ideas for this blog but my creative juice is really low these days.

Anyway, lately I have been really loving the BB cushion technology because I can just quickly pat it on and go and I can take it with me everywhere to touch up during the day. I originally wanted the IOPE Air Cushion XP but since there is billions of Laneige stores here in Hong Kong and not a trace of IOPE products, I thought that I might as well buy the Laneige one (and Michelle Phan said that it was really good). This BB cushion comes in 5 shades, No.13 True Beige, No.14 Pink Beige, No.21 Natural Beige, No.23 Sand Beige and No.31 Brown Beige .  The sales assistance recommend me No.13 True Beige so I got No.13 but turns out it is a tad to light for my skin but when it oxides it goes slightly darker and I use the help of a little bronzer to make it match my skin tone. Laneige has two types of BB Cushion: one for moisturising and one for pore control. This particular BB cushion is for moisturising.

These BB cushion comes in a round plastic case with a plastic lid to separate the actually BB cushion and the special sponge. The whole case is either white or silver which makes it look really simple. It has a clear plastic "glaze" on top the car which makes it feel high end. In the box you will get the BB cushion, a information sheet and a refill. The original price for this is HKD$320 ( £24 or USD$41) but I got 10% discount so I paid HKD$288 ( £22 or USD$37) the BB cushion and the refill which I think it is a pretty good deal. I've paid around £20 for a Innisfree/ Etude House BB cushion before and they didn't come with any refills at all.

The Laneige BB Cushion is really easy to apply, it glides on the skin really smoothly. And the texture of the BB cushion is really thin and light. You can build up the coverage effortlessly without it looking caked up, it also leaves a semi dewy finish which makes your skin glow. I am not a big fan of dewy skin since in my opinion over dewiness like the current trend in Asia is just oiliness to me, it's doesn't look "healthy". Compared to my other BB cushions like the ones from Innisfree and Etude House, the lasting power  of this BB cushion is by far much better than them. Another difference between this BB cushion and the Innisfree and Etude House BB cushion is that this one has high coverage.

I know it looks really light for my skin but my face is a lot paler than my hands, I'm one of those people who has tanned arms and neck, medium skin colour legs and a completely different colour face. I personally don't think it is that moisturising but I've been having some dry patches on my skin lately and it didn't enhance them so I guess it is somewhat moisturising. I can actually go on with a day without needing to touch up in Hong Kong's hot and humid weather. And since I am a excessively sweaty person, I wipe my face a lot and I've noticed that a little to none of the BB cushion is transferred on to the tissue, I feel as if the layer of BB cushion allows my skin to breath and sweat. Lastly the BB cushion is scented, it has a slight floral scent to it but it disappears after a couple of minutes of application.

At the moment I can't think of anything that I dislike about this BB cushion. It has the coverage, the flawlessness, the dewiness, the lightness and the long lasting power. I'll definitely repurchase this and recommend this to you guys if you are looking for a high quality BB cushion. You can purchase it at www.ibuybeauti.com for USD$41.99/£25.

  1. While I was in New York and Toronto I saw Amore stores everywhere but didn't think to swatch the Laneige cushions! Ooh the regret. I want to try this particular cushion since I like the IOPE Air Cushion XP so much. I think the two might be sort of similar. Thanks for doing up this review, April!
